linkalicious crack
Aug. 17th, 2007 02:13 pmI started out wanting to know about that mine collapse in Utah - specifically, whether that mountain had been shifty before, and why it had started being so recently.
That led to a series of disasters.
That list led to quick tangents involving the Snowball Earth theory and the Colossus of Rhodes, but I backtracked.
And then was distracted by the Year Without A Summer.
Of course, once I was reading about that, I remembered a mention from a book I was reading and had to click on the velocipedes. Which tangented, naturally enough, into the penny-farthing bicycle, which makes me think of Victorians, The Prisoner, and Darth Vader.
Penny-farthings had spoon brakes? What's that?
And it was only when I was learning about the center of gravity on recumbent bikes did I wonder, why the hell was I on Wikipedia anyway?

It happens every fucking time.
